Itinerary
Expand allCollapse all1: Arusha – Ngorongoro
Approximately a 3 ½ Hour Drive
7:30 am – Get ready to board your private safari vehicle. Your African Vulture Safaris driver/guide will pick you at your hotel or the airport get your safari started.
We will journey along the Masai country, keep an eye out for these indigenous people, tending to their cattle as we head for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Standing on the crater rim at Ngorongoro, you know you’re entering another world – one that has kept itself apart from the rest of the planet for thousands of years. Descending into this blue/green ecosystem, we’ll enter a rare space born of an amazing density and variety of wildlife. Lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, rhino, zebra, and more have made this extinct volcano their home for eons.
After a very full day here, we’ll ascend back to the top where a special treat awaits… a spectacular sunset at the crater’s rim.

2: Ngorongoro – Serengeti
An approximate of 3 Hours’ Drive
Today we’re headed to Tanzania’s largest reserve, the Serengeti National Park. But along our route, we’ll stop at a very special place – the Olduvai Gorge. Immense troves of fossilized remnants from ancient man have been discovered here, including vast numbers of tools. These have provided an invaluable record of human development. It’s an eye-opening experience.
But the great Serengeti is next – it’s a great treeless plain, extending to the horizon, filled with wildebeest, gazelle, zebra, impalas, and exciting populations of lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
We’ll begin our game drives over the vast spaces here looking for wildlife, like the over 50,000 buffalo filling these wide-open grasslands.

3: Full-Day - Serengeti Park
Plenty of time today to get to know the Serengeti, with unlimited game drives and time for relaxation at your accommodation. The great park has been called one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of Africa” because of its wildlife by the millions and its brilliant display of over 500 colorful bird species.
We’ll take a lunch break to rest and refresh between game drives and then set out tracking for big and small game like honey badger, wild dog, monkey, and baboon.
We’ll also explore the park’s rivers and may even find some unexpected wildlife like hippos and crocodiles.

4: Serengeti – Arusha
Approximately 2 Hour Flight . Let’s rise early to make the most of our final safari day! The morning light across the park’s Great Plains is warm and inviting as the animals stir in the fields.
We’ll take a game drive for some last sightings of the Serengeti’s many inhabitants and also enjoy a big safari breakfast.
Soon it’s time to head to the airstrip for our flight back to Arusha. Hop aboard and we’ll enjoy these great fields, forests, and land formations from the air. We’ll have you back in Arusha at about 12:45 pm. where one of our drivers will pick you up for the return to your hotel or airport.
