Nairobi Day Tours Visiting Kazuri Beads Factory
Visit the Kazuri Beads Factory; home to handmade ceramic African jewelry.
This craft centre was started up by an English expat in 1975 as a place where single mothers could learn a marketable skill and achieve self-sufficiency.
From humble beginnings, the workforce has multiplied to over 100. A free tour takes you into the various factory buildings, where you can observe the process from the moulding of raw clay to the glazing of the finished products. There’s also a gift shop with fixed prices.
The cottage industry literally supports hundreds of disadvantaged Kenyan women, by providing employment and healthcare services for them and their families. Celebrating women breaking barriers, changing their communities, and inspiring global action.
Fast forward to the present, Kazuri remains a world-renowned brand and champion of sustainable, handcrafted jewelry. Every necklace, bracelet, and earring carries the essence of its maker’s dedication and creativity, making it truly one-of-a-kind.

Kazuri Beads Factory Visiting Hours
