Overview

On this safari adventure, we’ll be visiting three Rift Valley lakes where we’ll see exotic flamingoes, kingfishers, pelicans, ostriches and much more. Big 5 wildlife wander in these parks as well, so we’ll be looking for rhino and even lion. But the best lion destination will be at the Masai Mara Park, home to one of the greatest concentrations of big cats anywhere. This African safari will keep you busy and happily engaged with game drives, and boat rides, walking safari excursions, and even bicycle safaris.

We will start our tour with the colorful Nakuru National Park – waterfalls, acacia forest, and the lake with its bright pink flamingoes. You’re likely to see endangered black and white rhinos, gazelle and rare Rothschild’s giraffe amongst the park’s grasslands. Our next Rift Valley Lake lies just north of the equator. Lake Bogoria National Reserve is an exciting spot with hot springs, geysers, and flocks of fuchsia flamingoes lining the shores. But you’ll also find gazelle, buffalo, klipspringer, and even leopard at this unusual park.

Lake Naivasha and its surrounding areas present us plenty of opportunities for some closer game viewing during boat rides, walking tours, and cycling safaris. We’ll take a boat over the lake with views of hippos and the birdlife – pelicans, cormorants, and more. Then we’ll take a guided walking safari to nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, viewing a charming array of grazing gazelle, zebra, and waterbuck. For even more close-up game viewing we offer an optional bicycle safari to Hell’s Gate National Park with its wandering zebra, giraffe, and antelope amongst others.

Now it’s time travel to Masai Mara – our trip to Masai Mara Park brings us to big game. Here, we’ll have plenty of time for exciting game drives over the park’s immense plains and scenic rolling hills in search of predators, grazers and especially the big cats. The park is famous for sightings of lion and cheetah, so we’ll be exploring the land, the wildlife and perhaps enjoy some cultural encounters with the local tribespeople. This 6-days Kenya adventure is a rich opportunity especially for those on a Kenya photography safaris keeping you active and engaged throughout.
