Itinerary
Expand allCollapse all1: Arusha – Ngorongoro
Approximately 3 ½ Hours’ Drive
7:30 am – Your Vulture African Safaris driver/guide will pick you at your hotel/ airport so that you can begin your safari.
We’ll travel through Masai country where you may spot herders in their colorful shukas, tending to their cattle.
Arriving at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we’ll watch the expansive views at the crater’s rim. A great viewpoint blue/green expanse spreads out before us with the promise of a rich world of wildlife below.
We’ll descend into the crater amidst its swamps, acacia forests, and deep grasslands all holding a universe of animals waiting to be discovered. Lions, leopards, wildebeests, zebra, buffalo, needless to mention and animal varieties and abundance are thriving, the crater also has colorful birds of birds of all distribution, and possible sightings of pink flamingoes at Lake Magadi.
Dinner and overnight at our Ngorongoro accommodation.
2: Lake Manyara National Park
Today we’ll be up early in the morning to savor the sights and sounds of the Tanzania landscape. We may enjoy the sunrise near the crater’s rim, on of the best moments, an unforgettable sighting.
Then it’s a quick trip to Lake Manyara National Park where we’ll be in a good position to watch the lovely sight of thousands of fuchsia flamingoes forming a pink blanket at the shores of the lake.
The park is well-known for its scenic beauty, Lake Manyara is equally famous for its tree-climbing lions but also plentiful other wildlife like elephants, warthogs, giraffes, and smaller game such as the little dik-dik, so named for the distinctive sound it makes.
During the evening hours, we’ll drive back at our Lake Manyara safari lodge or tented camp.
3: Lake Manyara - Arusha
An approximate 2 Hour Drive from Lake Manyara to Arusha.
Our final safari day will see us rise up early enough for a beautiful soaking up of golden rays of light upon the trees, grasses and of course, the lake and its bountiful birdlife. Let’s enjoy this quiet time before our breakfast with the colors of nature all about us.
We’ll head out for another game drive in search of the elusive tree-climbing lions, plus any other wildlife we happen to meet.
Then it’s time to point the 4 x 4 Jeep toward Arusha for the trip back. Along the way, we’ll stop for lunch and contemplate the sights and sounds of our Africa safari.
We’ll bring you back to your Arusha hotel, or airport.
