Itinerary
Expand allCollapse all1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve
At 0730hrs - You will be collected from your Nairobi hotel or Nairobi airport (Nairobi airport pick up depends on your arrival flight time).
Proceed to the Masai Mara game reserve -Kenya’s and Africa’s best wildlife destination.
Today at around 07:30, we’re off to the Masai Mara, perhaps the most famous park in the world and certainly the most popular park in Kenya.
In this game reserve, we’ll enjoy unlimited game viewing and journey down to the Mara River, site of the migration river crossings. This is where the migrating herds enter the Mara from the neighboring Serengeti. We’ll also be watching for hippo and crocodile, lying beneath the murky waters.

2: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Full Day
Today shall be a full-day game viewing experience!
Masai Mara Game reserve remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Natural world.
The reserve hosts the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region.
The scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities.
We shall navigate the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game.
We shall visit the Mara River as we watch pods of hippos & crocodiles or maybe the great migration (July – October)

3: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru
After a last morning game drive in the Masai Mara, we’re back on the road, headed to Lake Nakuru National Park. We’ll have a stop for lunch and take breaks on the way, arriving at Lake Nakuru Park in the afternoon.
Then it’s your choice of what you’d like to see first – the special rhino sanctuary, home to black and white rhinos; the park’s acacia forest, habitat of impala and waterbuck; or the lake itself where we may see hundreds, and sometimes thousands of bright pink flamingoes.
We’ll find other birdlife here as well, and we’ll be on the lookout for heron, kingfisher and eagle. Plus, the park may also provide us with memories of Rothschild’s giraffe and maybe lion, leopard and cheetah.

4 : Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha & Hell’s Gate
Up-next, it’s just a close-by drive to Lake Naivasha, and after lunch, we’ll discover the lake on a boat safari over this fresh-water lake. You’ll enjoy a relaxing sail past the marine life, pelicans and local hippos not far off. Over at the shore wave to the buffalo, impala and waterbuck as they drink from this popular watering hole.
Moving on, we’ll take on a guided walking tour at nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. This private island hosts a charming mix of birdlife, waterbuck, zebra and gazelle.
Now for our very different kind of safari – the bicycle kind. We move over to Hell’s Gate National Park – a unique spot featuring cliffs, canyons and the eerie sight of rising steam from geothermal activity below. Jump on your bike and let’s pedal close to zebras, giraffes and grazing buffalos.

5 : Lake Naivasha – Amboseli
It’s a long but relaxed safari drive to Amboseli Park with stops for food and to enjoy the many views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment towering above us. We’ll arrive at Amboseli in the afternoon hours. You’ll know you’re here by the park’s obvious feature – the towering great Mt. Kilimanjaro spread before us like a painting in the sky. As evening approaches, we might even get lucky enough to see the mountain’s snow-capped summit revealed as the clouds part.
A short game viewing drive with possible views of the Mount Kilimanjaro peaks at Amboseli -Weather permitting.
Overnight shall be spent at your Amboseli safari lodge or tented camp.

Elephant Cheetah, Wild dog, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Mongoose, Hyrax, Dik-dik, Lesser Kudu and nocturnal porcupine etc.
6 : Amboseli National Park - Full Day
Our time here will be spent on relaxed game drives. The park is small and the vegetation sparse which only makes it easier to spot the wildlife. However, one species you’ll have no trouble finding is the free-range African elephant. The park is famous for the long parades of marching Elephants - enjoy the sight of them marching before Mt. Kilimanjaro, as we search for even more wildlife.

7 : Amboseli – Tsavo West
A short morning game viewing drive is scheduled at the Amboseli this morning.
Now it’s a fairly short drive to our next park - Tsavo West, home to the Tsavo man-eating lions, a rhino sanctuary, giraffe, impala and the dik-dik. This is an attractive park with signaling green hills and imposing volcanic ridges.
Near the Chyulu Hills, we’ll come upon the unexpected Mzima Springs, fed by thousands of gallons of crystalline water pouring into this palm accented oasis. Look for hippos, crocodiles and other big game drawn here for sustenance.
Overnight shall be at your Tsavo west safari lodge or tented camp.

Leopard, Rhino, Wild dogs, Buffalo, Elephants, Giraffe, Lesser Kudu, Mzima springs hippo and exotic fish watching, volcanoes, lava flows.
8 : Tsavo West – Tsavo East National Park
Game viewing drives at the Tsavo West with a stop at the Mzima springs.
We’ll continue our game viewing as we journey to Tsavo East, our final park. This is the largest and one of the oldest reserves in Kenya. It’s a wild, rugged space filled with the “Big Five” plus a supporting cast of zebras, giraffe and over 500 species of birds.
Of note are the red-dust elephants. You can’t miss these enormous red-coated giants, coming from their dirt bath in the red-oxide soil.
So, there we have it – 9-days African safari, complete in every way, full days of game drives and all types of safaris, enjoying the sight of thousands of nature’s wildlife creatures in varied habitats. But we’ll have even more park viewing ahead as we make our way to the Kenya coast.

9 : Tsavo East National Park – Mombasa, Diani, Watamu, Malindi Beaches
Your last day on this African safari holiday!
Early morning game viewing drives at the Tsavo East national park.
Extra game viewing drive as you proceed to Voi train station (Next to Tsavo East) where you shall board the standard gauge Nairobi-Mombasa Train (Madaraka Express).
The train station at Voi is close-by. There your guide will assist you with tickets and transfer to the new high-speed train to Mombasa and the coast.
Approximately 11:45am arrive at the train station.
Your first-class ticket is included with the tour, so enjoy the comfort of your air-conditioned compartment as you travel through sections of Tsavo East. The train route is positioned higher than the roadway and offers an elevated view. With its large windows you’ll enjoy wonderful vistas of the passing landscapes.
There’s also a buffet car for drinks and snacks, and new, modern restrooms for your accessibility. In a little less than two hours, you’ll arrive at the state-of-the-art train station in Mombasa.
Train Schedule
Approximately 11:00am arrive at the Voi train station (Next to Tsavo East).
12:08pm: Depart for Mombasa on the Train station with its elevated country views through Tsavo West & Tsavo East national parks.
14:00pm: Arrive Mombasa train station where you shall be met by your transfer vehicle and driver.
Transfer to your beach hotel in Mombasa, Diani, Kilifi, Watamu or Malindi.
Arrival at your beach resort between 4.30PM -6 PM)
