Overview
Our journey visits mixed regions of Kenya parks, each offering its unique wildlife. From the rainforest and green mountains of Aberdare to Rift Valley Lake Nakuru to the best game park in the world – Masai Mara, this 5-day Africa safari is a treasure of wildlife and landscapes, one you don’t want to miss.
Picture waterfalls, rainforests, and mist-covered mountains; this is what you will find at Aberdare National Park, north of Nairobi. You’ll stay at a tree hotel in Aberdare where you will watch from your room, the elephants, buffalo, and antelope, amongst others drinking at local watering hole.
When you think of the best African game parks you cannot miss Lake Nakuru National Park on the list of favorites. Here, there are bright pink flamingoes along the lake but also great populations of black rhino, leopards, tree climbing lions, giraffe… even monkey and baboon.
Next stop, Masai Mara Game Reserve to experience wildlife at its best like never seen elsewhere before. The Mara is celebrated for its great numbers of lion and other predators. If you visit during the Great Migration prepare to witness a massive show of migrating wildlife everywhere as crowds of wildebeest and zebra flood into the Mara River into the park.

Itinerary
Expand allCollapse all1: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park
Ahead of us is an approximate 3-hour drive to Aberdare National Park, with an early departure at 7:30 AM our aim remains to arrive at the camp/lodge just in time for a delicious lunch afterward refresh then proceed to the park for an afternoon safari activity.
We’ll use the route that covers the highlands of central Kenya where you can see coffee and tea plantations.
The look of Aberdare Park is beautifully covered by forested mountains and wild moorlands. You’ll be staying in a Tree Top Hotel with balcony views of the park and a nearby watering hole, a perfect way to experience your African safari trip.
Look out for sightings of elephants, spotted hyenas, baboons and monkeys, buffalo, and warthogs. The park boasts sightings of the giant forest hog, the golden cat, and the bongo, a large antelope.
Return to the safari lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
2: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru Park
We’ll kick off day 2 of our Kenya safari tour with a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru Park, stopping to take in the towering majesty of Thompson’s Falls along the way at Nyahururu.
We’ll continue, viewing farm country and driving through the dramatic landscape of the Great Rift Valley.
Lake Nakuru Park will bring us up close to a bright assortment of birdlife, including flamingoes, cormorants, pelicans, and kingfishers among other unique wildlife that you will spot during this African safari tour.
But this park offers so much more – a large population of black rhino, endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, plus zebra, hippo, baboon, waterbuck, hyena, and sometimes lion and cheetah.
Return for dinner and overnight at your Lake Nakuru tented safari camp/ safari lodge. 
3: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara
Lake Nakuru is known for its robust birdlife so let’s rise early to enjoy the morning breakfast as you listen to the wilderness sounds and perhaps see some of the wildlife emerging from the night.
We’ll have breakfast and depart for the Masai Mara, with stops at scenic points along the way.
We’ll get to the Masai Mara in time for our first game drive over its rolling hills, with picturesque acacia trees adorning the landscape, also known as Kenya’s top safari destination. The Masai Mara is also known to be the best destination for a photographic safari in Africa with good numbers of African big 5 sightings.
While at the Mara, we’ll have plenty of time to track its seemingly endless array of wildlife – keep an eye out for lion as sightings are not uncommon.
Return for dinner and overnight at your Masai Mara tented safari camp/ safari lodge.
4 : Full Day – Masai Mara
We begin our morning with an early game drive shortly after tea and coffee with our timing prior to sunrise.
This is day 4 of your African holiday and we will spend our time exploring the Masai Mara. You may ask yourself; why is the Masai Mara so special? The Masai Mara Game Reserve remains the best safari tour destination in Africa, and with lots of reasons – the beauty of the landscape with its golds and greens, the great density and variety of wildlife said to be the highest in the region, but also because it’s home to the Great Migration.
During the months of July through October, witness vast herds of gazelle, wildebeest and zebra invade the park over the Mara River searching for sustenance. The numbers of wildlife pouring in over a migrating season can be astonishing – up to 2 million!
Along with game drives and animal sightings, we offer other optional activities to make your Kenya safari tour experience here even richer. Meet the local Masai people at their village and learn about their culture and their crafts. Perhaps purchase some of their brightly beaded souvenirs.
In the late evening hours, head back to your Masai Mara tented safari camp/ safari lodge for a delicious dinner awaits and overnight stay.
5 : Masai Mara – Nairobi
The final morning wrap of our African trip begins with a leisurely morning breakfast at your tented safari camp/ safari lodge, afterward you have an option to visit the Masai village before starting your journey back to Nairobi.
Your dedicated expert driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi with stops along the way. We’ll depart Masai Mara with a hot lunch stop along the way, arriving in Nairobi during late afternoon hours (approximately 15:00Hrs, typically 3:00 Pm) and bring you to your Nairobi hotel, or the Nairobi airport.
Drop off at your Nairobi City hotel /Nairobi airport (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport) for your flight home signals the end of this successful African safari trip.
