Overview

Start with chimpanzees to lions, endangered rhinos to pelicans and everything in between, this African trip will bring you up close to the best of Kenya. Explore the central highlands, Rift Valley lakes and the vast savannahs of the Masai Mara on 4X4 safari jeep, boat, bicycle and foot. For an active 5 safari days immerse yourself in the wonders of our wildlife parks.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is special. Nowhere else in Kenya can you see chimpanzees in their native habitat. This reserve also has the largest number of black rhinos in East Africa in specially protected game corridors. But you’ll also find all the Big Five here – at least six prides of lions occupy the conservancy.

From the central highlands of Kenya, we’ll travel through the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha for several exciting safari activities. We’ll use a boat to navigate across the lake looking for hippos, pelicans, kingfishers and more. Nearby at Crescent Island Game Sanctuary gives us an opportunity to go on foot on a guided walking safari viewing small game. And, we have an optional bicycle ride to Hell’s Gate National Park will bring us up close to grazing antelope, buffalo, zebra, and giraffe.

We’ll next travel to Masai Mara National Reserve. This amazing park boasts the highest density of wildlife in the region, so we’ll be tracking all the big game with an emphasis on lions. You’ll have opportunities to meet the local Maasai people and even take an optional hot air balloon safari at Masai Mara park!

Moving forward, we’ll arrive at Lake Naivasha in time for an afternoon boat safari across the lake, another beautiful introduction into your African wildlife safari. This is an easy, relaxing ride, sailing past hippos and exotic birdlife dotting the lake and its shores. Nearby, we may spot antelope, zebra, buffalo, eland, and impala perhaps grazing on the shore.

We should also have time for a guided walking safari to the nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. It’s a quick walk to this small park where we’ll spot impala, gazelle and other grazers close-by.

Today is a day of unlimited game drives and fulfilling exploration on this African safari excursion. Sightings of lion are common on these plains and so we will track these mighty creatures.

The park is also known as the place where the greatest movement of animals on the planet occurs – the Masai Mara Great Migration. If you are here during the Kenya great migrating season (July – October) you’ll be witness to thousands and perhaps tens of thousands of gazelle, wildebeest, and zebra pouring into the park over the Mara River.

We’ll enjoy our picnic lunch by the river and if in season, watch the lots of wildlife flood into the park. Also, nearby, we’ll look for hippos and crocodiles in their river habitat.

To round up your Africa Kenya safari experience here, we offer several optional activities: Visit the local Masai tribe at their village. See their lifestyle and culture up close and take in their colorful ceremonies and dance in their African safari attire.

For the ultimate safari, hop aboard a hot air balloon safari for a pre-dawn ride over the park. You’ll see the sun light up the savannah while the park comes alive below. This is an inspiring and unforgettable moment you’ll be talking about for years. Just ask us early to make the arrangements.
