Imagine in a 2-days safari you’ll get to explore all the color, wildlife, and diversity of these two popular Rift Valley lakes. Lake Naivasha hosts a good number of hippos and other aquatic life attracted to its shores. Lake Nakuru draws a good number of bright pink flamingoes, pelicans, kingfishers and ostriches. Additionally, there’s a rhino sanctuary that features a large population of white and black rhino.
Both these lake areas offer exciting herds of wildlife surrounding their shores – wildlife like waterbucks, hyenas, zebra, giraffe, rhino and even lion, leopard and cheetah. Your 2-day Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru safari boasts a wonderful variety of animals for you to spot.

Itinerary
Expand allCollapse all1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park
07:00 hrs. – Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel or Nairobi airport. We’ll head out in our 4 x 4 Jeep towards Lake Nakuru Park. We’ll be passing through the dramatic towers and gorges of the Rift Valley escarpment.
Along the way, we’ll stop to stretch, refresh and enjoy these scenic outlooks.
You’ll enjoy a full day of game drives over the striking terrain of Lake Nakuru Park. This is a place that features rocky escarpments, waterfalls, forests, wooded hills and of course, the lake itself. In addition to flamingoes, you’ll be treated to flocks of storks, herons, eagles, and pelicans.
The birdlife is plentiful and so is the wildlife and you may see some of the larger species like leopard, rhino, buffalo and tree climbing lions.
You’ll stay overnight at your Lake Nakuru safari lodge or tented camp.
2: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha - Nairobi
We’ll enjoy more bird and game watching around the lake and through the park then, we’re off on a short drive to Lake Naivasha which marks the second day of our 2-day tour itinerary.
Today we’ll take a boat safari across the lake as we navigate past hippos, birdlife and perhaps spot grazing zebra and antelope on the shore. But also keep an eye out for buffalo, eland, impala and occasionally… the elusive leopard.
Then, we’ll take a special trip to nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary – a beautiful private sanctuary that is filled with animals, mostly the gentle wildlife grazers. Here, we’ll take a guided walking safari to view the herds of buffaloes, wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, gazelle and more.
Later at an advised time, it’s time to head back to Nairobi. We should arrive back in town toward the early evening and will bring you to your hotel, or the airport.
Though it was a quick safari, we’re sure you’ll agree it was a busy one filled with lots of sightings - good for those who are on business trips.
