Ready to explore the wildlife safari? We’ll pick you up from your beach hotel or beach resort for the transfer to Abeid Karume International Airport. Your 16:00 (4:00 pm) flight will offer views of the Indian Ocean and the fields and forests of Kenya.

With a flight time of  1 ½ Hours, you’ll land in Nairobi at 17:30 hrs. (5:30 pm) where a Vulture African Safaris driver will bring you to your hotel for dinner and a good night’s rest. Tomorrow, we fly to Masai Mara Park.

After breakfast at your hotel, your driver will drive you to Wilson Airport for your flight to Masai Mara National Reserve. Your one-hour flight will lift off at 10:30 am for a scenic trip over Kenya’s charming savannahs, struck by the soft morning light. In no time you’ll land at an airstrip in Masai Mara where your Vulture African Safaris driver/guide will be waiting with a private 4 x 4 safari Land Cruiser.

Now, it’s a quick trip to the reserve and to your Mara safari lodge or tented camp. Lunch follows and then we’ll begin the first of many game drives here in Mara.

We’ll be in search for lions, leopard, and cheetah but don’t forget, all of the “Big Five” dwell in this park so keep an eye for the buffaloes, rhinos, and elephants.

That said, we will also be watching out for the many types of antelopes, gazelle, giraffes, and other smaller species like dik-dik, fox, aardwolf, mongoose, baboon, monkey, and warthog.

Come the evening hours, we’ll head back to our Masai Mara accommodation for dinner, relaxation and to story tell the sightings of the day.

Another lovely day on safari, and we’ll rise with the birds and enjoy the morning light on these golden savannahs, perfected with endless acacia trees.

The day is yours, so discuss with your driver/guide what areas you would like to explore. He’s the skilled expert and knows where any particular wildlife is likely to be found.

If you’re here during the Great Migration (July – October), he will likely suggest a visit or even a picnic down by the Mara River. This is the site of an unbelievable influx of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle flooding into the park from the neighboring Serengeti on their annual migration route.

Just so you know - for a more exciting adventure in the park, we offer an optional early morning hot air balloon safari in Masai Mara. As the park lights up, you’ll rise above the fields and great trains of wildebeests below for thrilling views of the Mara. Not to be missed!

Or - a cultural moment to enjoy and enrich your safari: take advantage of our optional visit to a local Masai village to meet the Maasai people. Learn about their pastoral lives and their culture; perhaps purchase one of their brightly beaded handicrafts.

Towards the evening hours, watch the golden sunsets as we turn and head back to our safari lodge or tented camp for dinner and our final night.

It’s our final safari morning so let’s revisit our favorite areas or perhaps discover a new viewing spot.

After breakfast, we’ll head straight to the airstrip for our 11:15 am flight back to Nairobi. It’s a short scenic 1-hour flight to Nairobi.

We should touch down at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport at 12:15 pm. One of our drivers will greet you and transfer you to the international airport.

You’ll take off at 19:15 hrs. (7:15 pm) for the 90-minute hop back to Zanzibar. It’s a 90 Minute Flight to Zanzibar.
