But why do people often overlook these other months? Because when we talk about best months to visit Kenya, most people often see this in terms of Wildebeest river crossings only, which should not be the case when planning your safari.

I can tell you for a fact that you can be very disappointed when you plan only to see the migration crossings, because the truth is no one can correctly predict the exact time that they will cross that Mara River, the only thing we know and based on the statistics we’ve collected over time is that the wildebeests usually reaches the Masai Mara Park in July or August and remains in Kenya throughout September before starting to move back to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park around October.

But in terms of wildlife safaris, the game viewing is good year-round, but this can differ for some parks, depending on the rains.

January and February is also a great time to visit Kenya.

In other words, starting June to October and January and February, these are good times to go on a Kenya safari whereas most Kenya safari destinations are also at their best between June to October and December to March which sees some of the parks get very crowded, especially for Masai Mara, Amboseli and Lake Nakuru which makes up for the best Kenya safari circuit.

April and mid-May welcomes the wet safari season which some travelers prefer, especially those on birding tours, with Migratory birds present from November to April.
