Yellow Fever Recommendations for Travel to Africa
As per the CDC Yellow Book and country listings, if you plan or wish to visit the mentioned safari countries below, you will be required to produce a yellow fever certificate showing proof of vaccination.
Travelling to East Africa, namely Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda or Rwanda for a safari holiday generally requires proof of Yellow Fever vaccination if you are arriving from an area infected with Yellow Fever/ Yellow Fever-endemic country.
In the case of Uganda, it applies for all international visitors regardless of origin.
Some of the countries, including Australia, Bahrain, China, South Africa, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Oman, Rwanda, Seychelles, Singapore, Tanzania, Thailand and Uganda require arriving visitors from Kenya or elsewhere in East Africa to have a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. So if you are travelling to one of these countries after a stay in Kenya then you need to have a Yellow Fever certificate.
Most other vaccinations are recommended rather than required, but Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and a course of malaria prophylaxis are widely considered necessary for a safe and comfortable safari holiday in Africa.
